Sir Lomie
. Aunty Narriman grew up in District Six and She would always watch Her father prepare Malaysian dishes. Narriman’s Rotis was doing so good that 5 became more. She then eventually started her own business, in the informal sector of Mitchells Plain because of the demand. “Djy moerrit kan gloe” Her Daughter gave me some more insight into the background of the family. “My mother and father met in District Six”en da hettie twee oegies beginte maak vi mekaa”. Food was always her mommies passion. Aunty Narriman was busy studying to become a school teacher but her passion was more in food and she decided to rather follow her passion. Her children continued with her legacy by opening “Sirlomie” on the 25th of October 2019 at Westgate Mall Mitchells Plain, where they serve delicious Cape Malay Curries with Rotis, bunny chows, wraps, desserts, milkshakes, and many more mouth-watering treats on the menu. The picture on the wall of the shop tells the story of a lady from District Six who did not give up on her dream and irrespective of the struggles she faced, she continued to live her dream. “Sirlomie” is not just another shop or takeaways, but believe me, it is a place where you can still enjoy the real deal from District Six. Hulle sê djy kan an die kinnes sien, die ouers se legacy en dai is true! Aunty Narriman het goeie kinnes groot gemaak! Also following their Mom’s dream in assisting our communities. If people like and share their page, you can win a Sirlomie family combo and a large sinfull treat.
